DESCRIPTION:The New Orleans Pride Center is celebrating our one year anniversary of being open to the public! Join us Sunday April 6th from 4 to 7 pm for a FREE party at the Broadside open to all LGBTQ+ community members and their allies. New Orleans bounce artist Katey Red will be headlining and bringing the energy to get all of us shaking our booties. We will also have performances by Duali-Tease\, Jasmine Davis\, and Goose Wilde – the fierceness and fabulosity of our communities will be on full display! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis event is open to all ages and a cash bar will be available. It’s free / donate what you can so please bring some friends! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe’ll also have some delicious snacks for you from the new restaurant Nikkei\, which will be open for you to order larger treats from\, along with local BBQ food truck Sweet Meats. We want to make sure you’re nourished\, body\, heart\, and soul at this event! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSo\, come on out to celebrate the New Orleans Pride Center’s one-year anniversary and help us usher in the next year of community connection and joy!

SUMMARY:Writing Across the Rainbow Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Writing from the Rainbow is our NEW ongoing monthly LGBTQIA+ workshop focused on all aspects of writing\, including how to get your first words on paper to getting published and sharing your work with the world! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAward-winning publisher\, editor\, and writer Sorella Smith will host this event which will also feature other writers as guest presenters. This is an ongoing workshop\, so you can attend as many meetings as you want! This is a free event\, but everyone should bring their own pens\, notebooks\, computers\, and tablets. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEveryone has stories to tell\, fictional\, factual\, or otherwise. This workshop will assist you with such concepts as world-building\, plotting\, character creation\, continuity maintenance (unless you’re just that stream-of-consciousness writer\, then forget continuity maintenance)\, editing\, sharing and constructive criticism of work\, and the journey forward\, either to publishing or wherever you want to take your writing. All prose types are welcome\, including poetry\, fiction\, nonfiction\, etc. We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday April 30th at 5:30 pm come join the Center for Restorative Approaches and the New Orleans Pride Center in building a more resilient and connected community. Be a part of community building circle that strengthens our connections. We’ll talk with each other and explore restorative approaches for our community. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn a time when LGBTQ rights\, specifically trans rights\, are being attacked at every level\, we need to have strong relationships to lean on one another. Big thanks to the Center for Restorative Approaches for organizing and leading these community building circles\, which will happen on the fourth Wednesday of each month (though this month it’s technically the fifth Wednesday!) \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n(ignore the date on the graphic below – new graphic coming soon!)
